The shopping never ends

I finished my shopping at Kroger, came home, made supper, then settled down for a quiet evening at home. Then my teenage daughter tells me she needs to download a paper for school onto a CD. Then comes the dreaded statement, "We are out of CD's, and I need it tomorrow."
I think most parents of school age children have heard that statement, "I need it tomorrow."
Well, I headed out to Wal-Mart. Of course, I did not have and coupons for CD's, but I did have other coupons that I "needed" to use. My shopping went like this:
1. the cd's: $14.00----------no bargain
2. 2 boxes of Arm & Hammer baking soda: $.38 each
I had a coupon for $1.00 off 2. TOTAL: free with $. 24 in overage
Sorry I do not remember where or when I got the coupon
3. 1 package of AA Rayovac batteries: $.94 each
I had a coupon for $1.00 off. TOTAL: free with $.06 in overage
www.rayovac.com
4. Goody Ouchless ponytail holders: $2.13 each
I had a coupon for $2.00 off. TOTAL: $.12

To top it off, at Wal-Mart, when coupons are more than the purchase price the cashier has to hand enter the coupons. My mistake, she entered $.10 instead of $1.00. Instead of deleting the $.10 error , she just entered another $1.00 coupon. That gave me another $.10 in overage.
Not bad for last minute shopping
