Time for an overhaul

A few months ago, I went through every bill we have and tried to find ways to cut back. I was amazed at how much I was able to cut out. I discontinued long distance service on our telephone. That saved us about $12 a month. I changed my daughter's health insurance to an individual plan. That saved us about $72 a month. Who would have thought her own plan would have been cheaper than being on a group plan. I then changed all bills to be paid on line, instead of paying for stamps. Not a big savings, but maybe $2.00-$3.00. Saving over $80 a month. Not too bad. We are now trying to decide if we should completely get rid of our home phone. We mostly use our cell phones. This would be another big savings, but I am not sure I am really ready to do that.
I recommend that everyone go through all their bills at least once a year. You may be surprised what you are paying for that you do not need.

I did the same thing and we cut out our home phone service. It was $25 a month for something we almost never used.

My hours got cut at work and right now my husbands job isnt looking too hopeful so we are doing this with our bills also. We are moving into a much smaller place and cutting back but we are mainly going over our cell bill to get rid of unneeded mins and such.

When we moved five years ago to our new house, we decided to try just using our cell phones instead of having a house phone. We never missed the house phone. I would recommend it.
