Cooking for the freezer!

I read a lot about people who spend a day or more cooking for the freezer. I am really impressed with this concept. It takes a lot of planning, organization, and time management. I am doing good if I can freeze leftovers....forget about the labeling and dating the leftovers. My schedule is very hectic and when I have a free couple of hours, cooking for the freezer is not even on my mind.

Now that the weather is warming up and it is daylight longer, I enjoy cooking on the grill. One thing I do to save time, is cook 2 or 3 things on the grill. Usually I cook chicken, hotdogs, hamburgers, or maybe pork chops. I cook enough for no more than 3 days. I worry about the freshness after that. If it is for the weekend, I may cook more, so we can also eat it for lunch. It does make meals a little easier, just heat up a side dish or add a salad and lunch or dinner is ready!!!

I totally agree. I am to busy to do the freezer cooking but when we fire up the grill I do try and cook enough for several meals. I do freeze part of that.

I agree too...Some of my younger friends with young families do freezer cooking.I have the time to cook for the freezer but don't have to fuss over cooking meals for 7 people anymore. It's nice to have a few things ready to go for when you don't feel like cooking or have a jam packed hectic day though.
